Also, the playtest for Avatars has begun. Updates will be made each Tuesday and the playtest will run until April. So, if you were unable to find rules for your favorite models in the second edition book, they'll be available here.
These PDFs are final, official, and tournament legal. They are only missing the art, and arsenal decks will be on their way for wave 2 later this year. The only models missing from wave 2 are the avatars, and an open beta test for the avatars is starting this week! The physical cards will be delayed, but at least the official rules will be available.
Also, following the release of the PDF they'll start work on the avatar playtesting. Per Justin: Unfortunately, it's looking like it is going to take a bit longer to get all of the art for this wave of models than we had hoped, so we are looking to release arsenal decks in mid sometime before Gen Con.
The nice thing is that this gives the playtesting process some breathing room. So, here is the plan: -This round of playtesting will last until the third week in January. January 24th will officially be the last day of this round of playtesting and on that day these forums will be taken down. These will be the finalized, set in stone rules.
They will be tournament legal. However, these cards will contain no art. Once all of the art is in, we will send everything off to print and have the wave 2 arsenal decks as soon as possible.
Cincinnati, Ohio. May have to get that for the wife. Nathan Caroland commented on the Wyrd forums that it is a large detailed model. It's also a Rare 1 figure. It gets sold once to a potential customer - not multiple times as say perhaps Bells or even Death Marshals. Pricing does come into affect for that - it has to. Some people were making similar comments On the Wyrd forum.
We don't know how big it is or what it actually looks like, so till that happens I don't want to judge. It's really big and detailed.
Being a one model henchman as opposed to a whole crew they probably plan to sell less of them and had to adjust the price to factor that in as well. If anyone's interested, I've got some stuff I'd like to sell over in the Swap and trades.
I'm done with this game and company and I want to get rid of this stuff. Shame too, I really liked it once upon a time. At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.
We screw you on character models. They've never done this before, so it just makes it unsavory now. Rasputina looks Steampunky with breeches, boots and goggles. Grot 6 wrote: If anyone's interested, I've got some stuff I'd like to sell over in the Swap and trades.
I'm in the opposite boat. If I had any spare cash I'd totally make some offers. I've been wanting to play Malifaux since and got the rulebook that Christmas and I've had a crew painted since , but with kids, home renovations and work it just hasn't happened yet. I'm hoping that with M2E I will finally get a chance to play. I'm not aware of any players in my area right now, so I may have to start from scratch, but I'm hopeful at least! Bathing in elitist French expats fumes.
Forar, Grot-6, do you have links to your swap shop offers? Friends of mine would like to see what's available. Especially if it is already painted. GamesWorkshop wrote: And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids! Have inquiry on, but no reply. Still open. I haven't been able to move a single Malifaux model since Version 2 hit.
It absolutely killed our local community, going from maybe players down to maybe 4, two of which are Henchmen. Its a damn shame, the wife and I liked the core of what was already there. A revision could've made it even better, but as it stands, most people just feel gouged. Oh well Gamgee on Tau Players wrote: we all kill cats and sell our own families to the devil and eat live puppies.
Kanluwen wrote: This is, emphatically, why I will continue suggesting nuking Guard and starting over again. It's a legacy army that needs to be rebooted with a new focal point. Dysartes wrote: Out of interest, what has caused the falling out with Malifaux 2.
Yeah, as the above posts said, Wyrd really treated fans like hot garbage running off all but their most obsessed followers. Things like running an "open beta" and ignoring or actually being belligerant to folks offering feedback, showed their colors. From there they just went and rebalanced their game in the laziest way ever, that happened to also force players to rebuy books, buy card-packs for all their old models, etc Wyrd is a gakky, greedy company, and they happily threw their game and fans under a bus to spike some revenue in the very short run.
